Hi Heike, they are very important. For me, they also make beautiful additions to decor. I can still read the books I cover.

Hydrangeas are perfect any time of year. They are readily available at grocery stores so they are so convenient to bring home and enjoy.

I see that you have white hydrangeas in a vase. Would you use those in the winter even though it’s a spring/summer flower?

I´d never cover them with burlap or cut decorative leaves out of their pages.

As a book lover and mother, daughter, and granddaughter of librarians, books have always been a huge part of my life and home. I’ve learned to be more discerning in my physical book purchases just because of space. Mine are shelved by genre and author or, for nonfiction, subject. That works best for me. Function trumps form. But I always have a few out for browsing that are either pretty or interesting subjects.

I would love to take one of her courses. I make her bread and have a container of dough in my frig all the time. See the bread I made here:https://www.stonegableblog.com/delicious-and-easy-no-knead-bread-recipe/
