It is solid maple and was acquired at a thrift store many years ago for $25. I thought of painting off white using chalk paint but never got around to it and am so glad. With a good cleaning and using some good furniture polish it looks great and is indestructible when the grandchildren visit.
I have been following you for the past 10 yrs and have followed your advice on decorating. Therefore I was delighted to find I have decorated my large coffee table just like you suggested.
