Welcome To Weekly Wednesday Wish List #192

This week, the WWW ladies are already embracing early spring. As bloggers, we tend to celebrate holidays, seasons, and special occasions about six weeks ahead, so spring is on our minds. I’m following the Lazy Girl’s Guide to Decorating for Spring by simply adding a centerpiece or arrangement to key spaces like my living room, sunroom, foyer, and dining room. Just one seasonal touch can give a beautiful nod to the season.

The morning light streaming through my dining room makes the easy-to-make spring centerpiece look almost ethereal. Even if it feels a little early for you to start decorating for the next season, today’s post is full of helpful ideas and inspiration for when you’re ready!

8. WHAT I’M READING: I’ve returned to fiction after a few months of reading non-fiction and watching documentaries. I just started Educated by Tara Westover and I’m thoroughly engrossed! (I guess technically it’s not fiction since it’s actually a memoir – about a young woman who, kept out of school, leaves her survivalist family and goes on to earn a PhD.)

9. WHAT’S INSPIRING ME AROUND THE WEB: Loving this elegantly appointed gorgeous bedroom. These stunning powder rooms are dark and dramatic, but not one bit depressing. Such a beautiful springy vibe in this cheerful sunroom.

9. CULINARY CORNER: Tortellini Soup – It’s still cold outside, but I’m bringing a little spring warmth inside with this cozy and delicious soup. In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Sauté 1 small diced onion, 2 sliced carrots, and 2 chopped celery stalks until soft. Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for 30 seconds. Add 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes and 4 cups chicken stock. Season with 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir in 1 (9-ounce) package fresh or frozen cheese tortellini and cook according to package directions. Add 2 cups baby spinach and let it wilt. Turn off the heat and stir in ½ cup heavy cream (optional) and ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese. Serve hot with BEER BREAD or SWEET CREAM CORN BREAD FROM A BOX MIX.

10. THE LAST WORD: No matter what the weather, celebrate spring by making something for your home. Create a CHARMING SPRING DOUGH BOWL or an early SPRING WREATH for your front door now so they will be ready when you start decorating for the new season.

ANSWER TO #7: James Madison was the only president to sign the Constitution. Theodore Roosevelt officially named the White House. Before that, it was called the President’s Palace, the President’s House, and the Executive Mansion. He was also the first president to ride in a car.

Happy Wednesday, friends!
