Such sweet memories. My whole house including the ceiling is universal gray. Every room looks like a different color depending on the light and decor. As for beige and browns in furniture, no way I will ever go back. I like using bold colors and they blend great of the wall color. (just my two cents) Keeping up with styles, well styles come and go, but what you love never will.

Hi Sherrill, It’s important that a mirror reflects something attractive. Often a mirror over a fireplace reflects the ceiling. Hope this helps. Buffet lamps vary greatly and there is really no perfect height. You want lamps proportionate to your buffet. Sorry I can’t help more.

Also lamps are hard for me.

I hope you are right, Cheryl! In our new build, I used a few of these. A couple are an old painted screen for the pantry & it’s matching entrance door for the laundry that we salvaged from an old garage we had to tear down on our property. They are hung in our back hall right across from each other & I love them. Very practical too, as you say. Another stained set in the wide entrance into our den so it can be closed off for sleeping once in awhile. And lastly, painted ones in our master bedroom for our closet & bath entrances. Again, very practical space wise. I guess if we like them, Yvonne says we’re right! 😉
