What an easy and fun Valentine’s DIY! Valentine Flower Cones are such a pretty way to show your love to a friend. And don’t our girlfriends deserve a little “Galentine” love on Valentine’s Day? Treat a few cherished friends to a sweet Valentine’s surprise!
These darling flower cones are so easy to make. Make them with Valentine’s Day inspired cardstock of your choice.
What You Will Need
Here’s what you will need to make this Valentine’s DIY…
- cardstock that works with your flowers and tissue paper
- flowers of choice
- paper towels
- floral food (HERE)
- water
- plastic wrap
- hot glue
- ribbon (HERE)
- tissue paper (HERE)
Make The Cone
Cut cardstock into an 8″ x 8″ square. Roll the paper into a cone with the paper on the diagonal. Use the bottom point as the point of the cone.
If you have decorative scissors, use them to cut the paper.
Hot glue the seam shut.
Make Tissue Paper Puffs
Cut out colorful squares from the tissue. Pinch the center of the paper squares and give it a turn to make a little tissue paper
Tissue paper adds pretty color and fluff to the Valentine DIY flower cone arrangement. And it makes just a few flowers look full and pretty!
How To Make A Flower Bouquet
Keep the flowers in the cone fresh by cutting the stems at a 45% angle, and wrap the stems in paper towels that have been soaked in water and floral food solution. Remember to cut the flowers to the size of the cone.
Wrap the paper towels holding the stems of the flowers securely in plastic wrap so they don’t leak.
Slip the flowers into the cone and add the tissue paper puffs.
Finish With A Bow
Tie a bow around the flower cone using a pretty ribbon and put a tiny dot of hot glue under the center of the bow to hold it in place.
Adding A Handle To Hang The Cone
Or hot glue ribbon to either side of the cone and hang the cone to a door handle.
